Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or engaging ShelterSafe for roofing services in Canberra and surrounding areas, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

ShelterSafe provides professional roofing services including but not limited to:

• Tile and metal roof repairs
• Roof inspection reports
• Insurance repairs and warrantable repairs
• Skylight and whirlybird installation
• Roof gutter and downpipe services
• Emergency makesafe services

All services are subject to availability, weather conditions, and material supply.

3. Quotes and Pricing

Quote Validity: All quotes are valid for 90 days from the issue date and may be extended to 120 days if material costs have not increased.

Pricing: Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your service will be the price stated in your accepted quote.

Roof Inspection Reports: Inspection reports are charged at $400 + GST for Canberra properties. Properties outside Canberra require a custom quote.

4. Payment Terms

Deposit: A 50% deposit is required upfront to secure materials and schedule your roofing project.

Final Payment: The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the work.

Payment Methods: We accept bank transfer, credit card, and other agreed-upon payment methods. All prices include GST unless otherwise stated.

5. Warranties and Guarantees

We provide warranties on our workmanship and materials as follows:

• Workmanship warranty as agreed in your service contract
• Manufacturer warranties on materials (Colorbond, Monier, etc.)
• Warrantable repairs that meet insurance and industry standards

Warranties do not cover damage caused by extreme weather events, natural disasters, neglect, or alterations made by third parties.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling

By Customer: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations with less notice may result in a cancellation fee.

By ShelterSafe: We reserve the right to reschedule services due to weather conditions, material delays, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you as soon as possible.

7. Property Access and Site Safety

You agree to provide safe access to your property for our team to complete the work. This includes:

• Clear access to the roof and work areas
• Removal of vehicles, outdoor furniture, or obstacles as needed
• Notification of any site hazards (asbestos, electrical, etc.)
• Securing pets during our visit

8. Liability and Insurance

ShelterSafe carries appropriate public liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.

We are not liable for damage to undisclosed or concealed structures, pre-existing damage, or damage resulting from failure to follow our maintenance recommendations.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of ShelterSafe or its content suppliers and is protected by Australian and international copyright laws. You may not use our content without written permission.

10. Use of Project Photos

We may photograph completed projects for marketing purposes. If you do not wish your property to be photographed or featured in our marketing materials, please notify us in writing before work commences.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from our services will be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law and may be escalated to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) or relevant dispute resolution bodies.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

13. Emergency Services

Emergency makesafe services are available 24/7. Emergency service rates may differ from standard rates and will be communicated at the time of service request.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any legal proceedings will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
